Born on the fourth floor of a two-storey bookshop in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane writer and performance poet Jo Sri spends his days busking for small change, hunting komodo dragons on the shadow-side slopes of Mt Coot-tha and exploring subterranean river tributaries in a canoe made from the cardboard boxes of other canoes. In 2012, Jo came second in the Australian Poetry Slam Grand Final. He also won the Queensland Poetry Slam State Final and Woodford Folk Festival's National Slam. More recently, he has featured at the Brisbane and Sydney Writers Festivals, and performs regularly with his spoken word band, Rivermouth. View all posts by Jonathan Sri
