The Spineless Wonders’ Slinkies team scouts for new and emerging writers  from across Australia. This year, we are excited to announce our collaboration with the Slinkies team to host the Phone It In competition to find the best stories up to 100 words.

The theme is open, entry is free and there is no limit to the number of entries. All entries must be submitted as audio files (recorded on any device and in any audio format) and uploaded to Submission Manager via this link.

The competition is open to any person aged between 18 and 35 years of age who is residing in Australia or any Australian living overseas.

The NYWF/Slinkies competition will open on May 22 and closes on August 1.

The Slinkies team will select a shortlist of submissions and these will be loaded on to the Spineless Wonders StoryPhones which will be installed at various locations at the National Young Writers’ Festival events.

Please note: Peril provides these details as a courtesy, but we’re not in charge of the events, so please don’t harrass us if the Facebook page is down for a particular event – unless we make that really really clear, in which case you’ll know because we’ll probably be hounding to you come along.

We’re free to access and want to keep it that way. If you want to ensure Asian Australian voices – in all their diversity and complexity – continue to be heard, please consider making a donation.
