Sydnye Allen, PhD is an African-American writer who lives in Petersham. Before beginning a creative writing career, she wrote for academic audiences. Her storytelling style centres experiences of Black womanhood and motherhood as a settler in Australia. She is a member of the Sweatshop: Western Sydney Literacy Movement.
