Sam Wallman is a political cartoonist based in Melbourne. His drawings have been published in places like the Guardian (US and UK), the ABC, SBS, Overland Literary Journal, Dirty Queer magazine and DUDE Transzine. In 2014 his collaborative piece of comics-journalism, 'At Work In Our Detention Centres: A Guard's Story' was nominated for a Walkley, and won the 'Australian Human Rights Award' in the media category. In 2014 he edited and published 'Fluid Prejudice', an anthology of cartoons and comics focussed on marginalised Australian histories. He is about to launch 'If We All Spat At Once They'd Drown: Drawings About Class', an anthology of comics and cartoons about socio-economics and modern iterations of class. He has previously produced animations for the ABC, the ACTU, the Victorian AIDS Council and RISE. Last year he created 'Brick by Brick: Is This Really Europe?', a piece of comics-journalism for SBS, from the EU border camps. Toward the end of 2016, he will head to the US to draw about their election campaign
