Queensland Poetry Festival: Lost Language Found

August 25, 2016 - August 28, 2016

Lost Language Found, the theme for this year’s Queensland Poetry Festival, is a four-day festival held in the last week in August. QPF also curates and administers the Arts Queensland Poetry Awards, the Arts Queensland Poet in Residence Program, the Indigenous Poet in Residence, the Brisbane Poetry Map, and the Queensland Heats & Final of the Australian Poetry Slam.

While a number of events will be held at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, making it easier to hop from one event to another, a few events will be held at satellite locations.

Of note: Archie Roach in concert, a possible screening of Beyoncé’s Lemonade, and Beautiful Bones – a showcase of Indigenous Australian poetry featuring 2016 Indigenous poet in residence, Sam Wagan Watson.

Please note: Peril provides these details as a courtesy, but we’re not in charge of the events, so please don’t harrass us if the Facebook page is down for a particular event – unless we make that really really clear, in which case you’ll know because we’ll probably be hounding to you come along.

We’re free to access and want to keep it that way. If you want to ensure Asian Australian voices – in all their diversity and complexity – continue to be heard, please consider making a donation.
