Peril interview with artist Tintin Wulia (7 December 2012)

Tintin Wulia is exhibiting as part of The 7th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT7), 8 December 2012 — 14 April 2013, Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) and Queensland Art Gallery (QAG).

“Drawing on her own experiences, Tintin Wulia works with themes of migration and bureaucracy. In her video Microstudy of Wanton 2008, mosquitos are squashed inside a passport to leave blood-stained stamps, evoking the sometimes violent control of national borders and anxieties about migration across the world. In a new work for APT7, Wulia invites visitors to play an arcade game to win their own ‘passport’.”
