Articles by Ruchira Talukdar
Dr. Ruchira Talukdar's work focuses on finding intersectionality between environmental and climate justice between the Global North and South. She has worked within the environment and climate movements in India and Australia for two decades. She is Co-founder of Sapna South Asian Climate Solidarity, an Australia-based climate justice project that bridges the gap between climate justice in the global North versus South through movement education, advocacy, and community campaigns.
Ruchira's PhD drew on her background and experience across Northern and Southern contexts of environmentalism. It compared present day coal conflicts and protest movements in India and Australia, and provided recommendations to bridge the North-South divide in climate activism and to build critical solidarity. These recommendations were converted into workshops and trainings for ENGOs. Ruchira regularly writes on environmental and climate politics and social movements.
